We are loyal customers of White Castle. We got way back to Hollis Queens, NY in the 1960's where my husband and I grew up. We both went to the White Castle on Francis Lewis Blvd. but didn't know each other back than.

Now we go together to White Castle after being married 30 years - life is a full circle after all.

Long Island – Love It or Leave It
Published South Bay Newspaper
In the early morning all of Long Island’s problems are softened by nature’s sunlight reminding me why I love Long Island. There in the sunlight I see hope for the future.
If only Long Islanders awoke to try to make a difference and leave Long Island better than how they found it. Alas, Long Island can be a lonely place for some separated by cultural, income or status disparity that builds fences in our neighborhoods.
The lost of home town roots breeds young people’s escape moving away from Long Island. Perhaps the absence of housing does not welcome all. Only when there is a home for everyone, will Long Island’s future continue to evolve, grow and prosper.
My hope is that all Long Islanders can join together across neighborhood boundaries to love our hometown. Then we shall keep people on Long Island – for no one leaves a place they love. The choice is yours: Long Island – love it or leave it.

BABYLON BEACON NEWSPAPER
Published October 10, 2002

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Dear Editor:
I write in reference to the resident’s objection to projected new site for Stop and Shop at Golding Avenue, West Babylon in their neighborhood, mindful of congested traffic or intrusion.

Having lived through a similar incident on Long Island; I can relate and present another viewpoint. In my youth, growing up  in Massapequa Park, I lived in the vicinity of the projected new site for proposed Sunrise Mall.
It was evident then, even from a child’s observance, was the community and neighbors resistance for the Mall complex. Residents protest impending traffic and disturbance would trespass our idyllic suburban neighborhood.

Representatives of the Sunrise Mall assured opponents there would be no intrusion, commotion or gridlock traffic. They cited the entrance to the Mall as Carman’s Road, which would confine traffic. The residential housing is behind Carman’s Road - similar to West Babylon resident’s approximation adjacent to the Route 109 entrance for Stop and Shop.
Pursuant to the grand opening of the Sunrise Mall, the Mall representative’s pledge of assurance and serenity proved right. Our neighborhood was not hindered or infringed upon.

In fact, my family and all the neighboring families became frequent patrons of the Mall, appreciative of the convenient proximity to a shopping center. The new neighbor was eventually welcome with open doors. Welcome to the neighborhood!
