WINTER IS OURS

Season entrance
Roaring winds dance
Winter welcome snow
Shining ice aglow
Clouds gather round
Moving snow bound
Crystal flakes fly
White heaven sky
Fade the flowers
Winter is ours

WINTER’S ART

Fall remains behind
Out of winter’s find
Brisk cold walks
Muffled talks
Fireplace warmth
The home’s hearth
Silent snow fall
Wintry call
Sun tucked away
At close of day
By nature’s chart
Behold winter’s art

by Susan Marie Davniero

WINTER BEGINS

Winter begins
Breath of winds
Whirling breeze
Barren trees
Silent snow
Frozen below
Icicles on edge
Frosty ledge
Warmth without
Coldest shout
Sun tucked away
One wintry day
Darken sights
Winter nights

by Susan Marie Davniero

SNOWFLAKES PLACE

Winter’s gift
Floating adrift
Snowflakes flight
No two alike

Winter time
Supreme design
Clouds snowflakes fall
If flakes come at all

Winter’s beauty
Crystal symmetry
Snowflakes around
Kissing the ground

Winter’s fall from grace
Pardon snowflakes place
An ice beauty before
Melts into nothing more

He's Got the Whole Whole in His Hands
(Daily News)
Keep the faith - the weather is in God's hands. After all, He's Got the Whole Whole in His Hands
The dark days of this winter weather grief lead me to turn to the pages of “The Book of Job (Bible)” to find the light for reason and to console. "Where light dwelleth…”
Addressing the theme of God’s justice in the face of suffering we must keep the faith. There is a reason for His plan. Help is on the way. After all, remember He's Got the Whole Whole in His Hands
Past the windy sweeping blows by blankets of drifting snow - will come a new day to bring the first day of spring! And suddenly it’s spring!

WINTER’S FLEEING

Winter with us yet
Lest we not forget
Whirlwinds curl
Brooding unfurl
Lies cold and low
Decaying leaves blow
Out of cold’s harm
Seeking to be warm
Invited by weather
We huddle together
Breath of being
To winter’s fleeing

WINTER’S ENCORE

Winter’s encore
The winds roar
Calling the pain
It’s winter again
Storms throw
Bed of snow
Bursts of chill
Of coming ill
No escape in sight
To pass the plight
Beats a cold heart
Until winter parts

Hurricane Sandy Of 2012

by Susan Marie Davniero

Announced by the forecasters
Arrives Hurricane Sandy’s disaster
Driven by the rising tides
Trembling water bursts rides

Thrusting upon the land and shore
Knocking pounds at the doors
Where neighboring people dwell
Their stumbling houses fell

Faulted by the turbulence
Ensue with awaken sense
To rise from the recovery we face
Tomorrow shall find its place

OCTOBER DAYS

Published The Eclectic Muse Poetry
October days grow duller
In search of earthy color
Patchwork cloak of leaves
Fallen from stripped trees
Orange, yellow, gold
Dress the season bold
Sunlight dimming down
Barren grass browns
Trails on nature’s path
Creeps in winter’s wrath

 WELCOME AUTUMN DAWN
Published:  Great South Bay Magazine

Welcome autumn’s dawn
Crisp sunny morn
Harvest bounty call
Fruitful gifts of fall
By way of park’s trails
Nature’s foliage prevails
Paints colors on trees
Blowing in the breeze
Acorns slip on the ground
Cooling fall abound
Ripe auburn shades
As the warmth fades
Amber spice blend
Flavors of fall again
Autumn days mellow
Comes winter tomorrow

SQUIRREL AT MY WINDOW
by Susan Marie Davniero

Welcome sweet morning
Squirrel waits adorning
Scattered at will
Nuts on windowsill
Pounced from railing
Upon paths trailing
Burying the nuts
For winter huts
Breath of autumn blow
Squirrel at my window
A Lovely Day In June
by Susan Marie Davniero

June Issue

As morning comes awake
There’s a fluttering by the lake
Dancing beneath the skies
A host of blue birds flies
Shades of flowers bloom seen
By a blush of meadows green
Nature sings a summer’s tune
For this lovely day in June

SEAGULLS BY THE BAY
by Susan Marie Davniero

Visit Long Island dock
Where seagulls flock
I ponder and mull
Home of the Seagull
Behold the sight
Seagulls take flight
To soar from within
Adrift with the wind
The seagulls race
Call out their place
Navigate and glide
Alive in the sky
Wings span
Like a white fan
All kinds of weather
Birds of a feather
Day or night
Scavengers in flight
Seagulls come near
Perch on the pier
I lay bits of bread
Seagulls are fed
Calm waters today
Seagulls by the bay
