I dreamt that I saw a big hand reaching out from behind my bedroom curtain. It made me jump out of bed and scream to my husband, “Someone is trying to get in the house!” My husband woke me up and told me I was dreaming. Please let me know what this means.

Analysis: More often than not, a hand that reaches out is a symbol of physical or emotional need. The bigger the hand, the easier it is to come to grips with what is demanded from you. In this view, the hand represents someone that needs your assistance. Alternatively, the extended hand reveals your wish for a helping hand. Yet, given your fearful response, the scary hand may refer to an intrusive presence in your life, an infringement of personal space.
