IT’S POSSIBLE
(Published Long Short Story)
(Published Long Short Story)
The doctor said, “It’s possible”
He even said, “It’s probable”
That we would have a set of twins
I said, “It’s just impossible”
“No, no, it can’t be possible”
That we would have a set of twins
I said that it just couldn’t happen
Couldn’t happen to me
There are no twins
On our family tree
So never say, “Impossible”
And never say, “Improbable”
‘cause look what happened on that morn:
The twenty-sixth day of September
Is the day I will remember
When Laura and Susan were born

TWINS
(Published Long Story Short w/photos)
(Published Long Story Short w/photos)
A double blessing came to us
Right from the Lord above
He sent two little baby girls
For us to have and love
Instead of sending just one child
He blessed our home with two
Laura Marie is the older
Susan Marie came next
Named for our Blessed Mother
We ask that she protects
Now as every day goes by
We see them changing so
Their cries now in chorus
Their faces are aglow
The day will come when
They’re not babies any more
But till that day, so far yet near
We wonder what’s in store

TWIN SHOPPING
My twin sister and I are your everyday health nuts following a vegetarian diet, and healthy life style to keep up appearances. Frankly, we want to look good so we eat good - essentially we eat our words with healthy foods on our menu such as soy, tofu, and vegetables.
To the grocery stores and back again –we make our diet fun when we grocery shop together. Together we are not apt to break our diet plan. Two heads are better than one in hunting for bargains, sharing coupons and grocery tips. With our double coupons, sales, bargains and cash awards we make much of little means.
Twin shopping is sharing the chore, saving on gas and lifts the grocery load! Now grocery shopping is fun, spending time and money together! We always shared and shared alike – now we even sharing the grocery shopping “two.”

Parting Twins
(Dedicated to Susan and
Laura Twins)
Twins switch
Which is which
From the very start
Can’t tell them apart
Yet on some days
Twins part ways
After marriage comes
Living separate homes
Susan’s a spend thrift
Laura’s generous gifts
Susan’s words slip
Laura’s loose lips
Both petite and smaller
But Susan’s inch taller
Laura likes to roam
Susan’s happy at home
But we always come
Where we started from
Back together again
After all, we’re twins!

My sister
Laura holds her cat “Princess”
As her long
dark hair tresses
Falls to
touch the cat’s dark fur
Just as the
cat begins to purr
Where does
her hair end
And the
cat’s fur begin?
Busy work
of her day
Forgotten
for a stay
Laura and
the cat sit as one
After the
day’s chores are done
Gently
petting the cat
Nestled
peacefully in lap
A moment
still to adore
Each
other’s love in awe
Yet whose
love is more?
Laura or
her rescued pet
Forever in
each other’s debt

LAURA'S STORY
Written by twin sister, Susan
Written by twin sister, Susan
(Published Pancakes in Heaven and Long Story Short)
It
was during our high school days together when my twin sister, Laura pulled away
from me to be her own person. She was finding her own way in life on a path
alone. Literally she would walk home from school alone without me beside her.
In fact, one of her favorite book titles are; "The Girl Who Walked Home
Alone" Biography Bette Davis. This was one of those times Laura found her
inner strength to be strong. And I simply walked home from school with
girlfriend, Margie. Sometimes one of the senior boys would give us a ride home.
I remain teenager while Laura moved on.
Our family knew Laura as the one who often spoke out for injustice; while although I was fine debater, I was the peacemaker. Laura took on the battles for both of us while I remain neutral. Laura paid the price for conflict and I reaped the rewards. Later in life she often paid the price literally too when picking up the tab for me. As strong as Laura was becoming she was never hard showing great compassion without regard to any discomfort or embarrassment to herself. There was a night when a car hit our beloved black cat, Spooky.
Without hesitation Laura ran out of the house, undress in her nightgown without make up on, in an attempt to rescue the cat. I was found peeping out behind the door watching Laura do the right thing like a grown up. Without question, Laura accompanies Dad to drive around in search of emergency veterinary to try to save the cat. Their trip was fruitless and the cat’s life was loss. Yet, Laura found hers. She was growing up without me.
However, it is this ability to walk alone, be strong and show compassion that has driven her in life to help others and to pick me up when I fall. I needed her to be strong for me. She was developing her inner strength. Sometimes Laura is high strung; yet it is that energy that fuels her to carry on and carry the load for others. God has given her the physical strength to defy her size to carry the 20 lb bags of kitty litter and numerous cat food cans to care for her many rescue cats. Laura walks proudly with her head up high facing whatever live offers her. I know I have her back and can lean on her. It has been her strength that held me up at times. I have become stronger for it.
You won't find Laura writing her own self-portrait for she shuns the recognition. Although she tends to dress up, she remains humble. Laura's silence speaks volumes. As her beloved role model, Saintly Mother Teresa, never wrote her own Autobiography, Laura won't write one either.
